I have attached the planned schematic, as it is so far.
so far, i am waiting for the DC-to-DC converter (48Vdc to 12Vdc) to arrive in the mail, so the prototype was powered by a 9V battery. but it does work! :D
I must say, the audio is clear and very low noise noticed, with this headset (KORE Aviation P1, i think). of course, my first adaptation was to convert it to stereo, and replace the cord with a stretchy cord. the headset and cord are a little heavy, but with the quality, i am still impressed.

i will have to keep playing with the ideas a little to make it more compact, and better looking. but functionally, it works.

Upon the realization that XLR phantom power is very low current, i revised to use a voltage divider that is adjustable. i will likely have it set for 48Vdc input, and will do so before i connect the headset to avoid the dreaded blue smoke.

another revision... making the headset have just one connector, to clean up the appearance.
